About The Position

The Activities Guide provides educational, safe outdoor experiences and serves as a primary point of contact for guests. Guides lead activities including hiking, mountain biking, shooting sports, archery, fly fishing, paintball, and seasonal winter sports such as cross-country skiing and snowshoeing. The role combines technical outdoor expertise, professional instruction, and high-level guest service consistent with the standards of Forbes Five-Star properties. The guide welcomes and assists guests, monitors activity schedules, personalizes excursions, and facilitates the Kids Program. The position prioritizes guest and coworker safety through briefings, adherence to activity-specific procedures, and maintenance of ready-to-use supplies and equipment. Guides also fit specialized gear, maintain activity areas and facilities, complete daily and weekly schedules and closing duties, and contribute to departmental projects such as trail building and maintenance. Duties may be assigned or reassigned by management and are not limited to those listed in the posting.

Requirements

Valid, current driver’s license.
Current CPR/First Aid certification.
Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to engage with diverse groups of people.
Ability to stand, sit, walk, and move continuously throughout a shift in varied weather conditions and terrain.
Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment required for activities.
Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, nights, and holidays.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Previous experience in a similar capacity, such as luxury guiding, outdoor education, or high-end hospitality, is highly preferred.
Proven competency in several of the following: fly fishing, shooting sports, mountain biking, or winter sports.

Responsibilities

Provide professional instruction in specialized outdoor disciplines for guests of all skill levels.
Welcome guests visiting the Rod & Gun Club.
Monitor guest sign-ups and schedules using the Concierge Assistant system.
Personalize excursions by following guest notes, recognizing special occasions, and accommodating requests.
Facilitate the Kids Program in a fun, engaging, and safe environment.
Provide a fond farewell, confirm guest needs have been met, and ensure equipment is returned properly.
Prioritize guest and coworker safety and maintain a proactive safety-first mindset.
Deliver safety briefings to guests before activities.
Understand and follow Standard Operating Procedures for each activity.
Refresh first aid materials and water supplies and keep them ready for use.
Secure hazardous materials and equipment according to company safety protocols during closing duties.
Assist guests with technical fittings for boots, bikes, waders, and other specialized gear.
Maintain organization in the Rod & Gun Club and activity staging areas.
Execute daily and weekly schedules punctually and accurately.
Complete closing duties, including cleaning equipment and organizing facilities for the following day.
Contribute to departmental goals and special projects, including trail building and maintenance when guided activities are not scheduled.
Collaborate with coworkers across departments on daily tasks and overall Ranch goals.
