About The Position

Mercy Housing is a nonprofit affordable housing provider that builds, preserves, and manages program-enriched housing. The Activities Director coordinates and oversees activities programs, assesses residents’ needs and interests, and partners with residents to design and implement a well-rounded program tailored to the targeted resident group. The role works with community providers to make effective use of available resources, serves as a liaison with other site staff, and represents the property at community meetings. The position also leads and mentors program staff and volunteers. This is an on-site role in Hacienda Heights, California. Mercy Housing encourages candidates with lived experience to apply and considers qualified applicants with arrest and conviction records.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• Experience planning and implementing activities programs for the targeted group.

Nice To Haves

• Speak a second language in addition to English, such as Spanish, Russian, or Chinese.
• Lived experience.

Responsibilities

• Work with residents to develop an activities program serving the specific targeted resident group.
• Coordinate all phases of implementing activities and programs, including arranging group transportation.
• Establish and maintain partnerships with neighborhood and community providers to maximize utilization of resources.
• Conduct resident assessments to determine needs and interests for activities.
• Serve as a liaison with other site staff.
• Lead and mentor program staff and volunteers.
• Represent the property at community meetings.
