About The Position

Providence Healthcare is hiring a full-time Activities Director. The position assists with planning and providing activities that support and maintain residents’ quality of life by addressing their social, physical, spiritual, and mental health. The Activities Director provides supportive activities in a comfortable environment for residents. The ideal candidate has strong interpersonal skills, exceptional customer service, and a desire to serve seniors. Candidates must have previous experience working with elderly patients and be able to speak and read English.

Requirements

• At least 6 months of experience working with residents in long-term care or in a similar occupation.
• Previous experience working with elderly patients.
• At least minimal experience planning and directing activities for elderly residents and organizing special programs for residents, families, and staff.
• Good verbal communication skills.
• Ability to display enthusiasm and a positive attitude in promoting activities and enlisting team members’ support.
• Ability to speak and read English.
• Valid state driver’s license.
• Must pass a background check.

Responsibilities

• Plan and provide activities that support and maintain residents’ quality of life, addressing their social, physical, spiritual, and mental health.
• Provide supportive activities for residents in a comfortable environment.
• Plan and organize special programs for residents, families, and staff.
• Promote activities enthusiastically and positively, and enlist facility team members’ support for activity programming.
• Give directions to others in a pleasant and easily understood manner.
