About The Position

Spring Gardens Olympus Ranch, an independent living community in Murray, Utah, is seeking an Activities Director. The role develops and facilitates activities that reflect residents’ interests, needs, and abilities and support their wellness and quality of life. The director creates an activities calendar, recruits and supports volunteers, and assesses new residents and residents quarterly to identify their interests. Evening and weekend community events may be scheduled, and the director is expected to be available to facilitate them. The position is full-time, day shift, with a listed salary range of $45,000–$50,000.

Requirements

At least one year of experience in therapeutic recreation and/or a senior activities role at a senior living community, hospice, in-home health care provider, or skilled nursing facility.
Valid driver’s license.
Exceptional problem-solving and time-management skills.
Ability to work a full shift, arrive on time, and work overtime as needed and with approval.
Ability to work the schedule necessary to meet job requirements, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Good interpersonal communication skills.
Availability to participate in activities outside normal business hours, including scheduled evening and weekend events.

Responsibilities

Develop an activities program based on residents’ interests, needs, and abilities to enhance wellness and quality of life.
Create an activities calendar highlighting scheduled activities, events, and outings.
Establish and maintain a volunteer program by recruiting volunteers and providing training and support.
Complete new-resident and quarterly assessments to identify residents’ interests.
Facilitate community events, including evening and weekend events as scheduled.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
