About The Position

Concordia at SpiriTrust is seeking a compassionate, creative, and organized Activity Director to lead and oversee our resident activity program. The Activity Director is responsible for planning and implementing engaging programs designed to meet the social, physical, intellectual, recreational, and spiritual needs of our residents. Typical schedule for the Activity Director is Monday-Friday, hours are dependent on the activities going on. This is an exempt Salary position.

Requirements

• Associate’s degree in Recreation Therapy or a related field is recommended.
• At least two years of experience in a long-term care activity department preferred.
• Background or experience in music, art, drama, or dance therapy preferred.
• The ideal candidate will be creative, dependable, compassionate, and enthusiastic about working with older adults.
• You should enjoy developing activities that encourage residents to socialize, remain active, maintain their abilities, and experience a meaningful quality of life.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate engaging individual and group activities that support residents’ social, physical, intellectual, recreational, and spiritual needs.
• Develop and maintain a weekly activity calendar with a variety of exercise, social, creative, sensory, memory-enhancement, outdoor, and seasonal activities.
• Coordinate resident outings, special events, holiday celebrations, and facility decorations.
• Facilitate Resident Council meetings and follow up on resident concerns.
