About The Position

Valley Manor Care Center is hiring an Activities Assistant in Montrose, Colorado. The role coordinates social, recreational, purposeful, and spiritual activities for residents with psychological, physical, and cognitive challenges. The assistant supports activities and recreation that offer residents spiritual, physical, social, and intellectual engagement, and completes assigned department routines and other duties under the direction of the Therapeutic Recreation Director. The stated pay range is $17.40–$19.65 per hour, based on previous work experience. The schedule is Sunday through Thursday, with 8-hour shifts.

Requirements

Ability to read, understand, and follow written and oral instructions.
Ability to prepare written reports and documentation.
Ability to work with residents of varying levels of responsiveness.

Nice To Haves

High school graduate or equivalent education is preferred; preference is given to persons who have completed courses in therapeutic recreation.
A minimum of one year of experience in a healthcare setting is preferred.

Responsibilities

Coordinate social, recreational, purposeful, and spiritual activities for residents whose needs include psychological, physical, and cognitive challenges.
Perform defined work routines and daily assignments using department supplies and equipment, as assigned by the Therapeutic Recreation Director.
Assist with social activities and recreational programs that provide spiritual, physical, social, and intellectual challenges for facility residents.
Perform other department duties or special assignments as directed by the Therapeutic Recreation Director.
