About The Position

The Activities Assistant helps plan and implement meaningful activities that meet participants’ needs and interests. The role supports programs promoting residents’ creative, spiritual, social, and intellectual well-being. In some communities, the assistant may also help residents with activities of daily living as needs require. This is a part-time position at The Ridge Cottonwood. Candidates must be outgoing, energetic, talkative, engaging, warm, professionally presented, compassionate, and enjoy working with seniors. Weekend availability is required, with occasional evening, weekend, and holiday work. The position also requires driving the bus for community outings.

Requirements

• Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• At least 3 months of experience with group and/or event planning.
• Basic computer proficiency in MS Office.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• COVID-19 vaccination required.
• Must be available to work weekends.
• Must be outgoing, energetic, talkative, engaging, warm, professionally presented, compassionate, and love seniors.
• Must have schedule flexibility, including availability for occasional evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Nice To Haves

• Activity professional coursework preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with delivering the life enrichment plan, including programming and implementing community events.
• Assist with preparing and purchasing supplies and equipment as needed.
• Promote exercise and wellness programs offered within the community.
• Observe and communicate information about residents’ needs, desires, and responses to programs and community events to others directly involved in their care.
• Maintain records of resident participation in events.
• Plan resident group excursions and drive the bus for community life trips.
• Perform administrative tasks as assigned.
• Assist residents with activities of daily living when needs demand in some communities.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
