About The Position

Schuyler Ridge is seeking a compassionate, motivated, and creative Activities Assistant to help plan, organize, and carry out recreational activities that promote residents’ mental, physical, and emotional well-being. The role supports residents’ quality of life by fostering an engaging environment and tailoring participation to their preferences and abilities. Schuyler Ridge is a 120-bed skilled nursing facility in Clifton Park offering sub-acute rehabilitation, long-term care, and memory care. The position is listed as per diem, with hours as needed and a rotating shift; the posting also contains an employment listing of “Full Time Days.”

Requirements

High school diploma or GED preferred.
Ability to read, write, and communicate in English.
Passion for caring for residents in a respectful, caring, and professional manner.
Creativity and enthusiasm for planning and participating in activities that promote resident engagement.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

Assist the Activities Manager with planning and implementing daily resident activities, including arts and crafts, music therapy, group games, and outings.
Lead or facilitate small-group activities and individual resident interactions.
Encourage residents to participate while considering their personal preferences and abilities.
Document resident participation and progress in activity records.
Maintain an organized and safe activity area and ensure equipment and materials are clean and in good working condition.
Collaborate with family members and the interdisciplinary team to personalize activities and address residents’ social, emotional, and physical needs.
Prepare and set up materials for scheduled events.
Follow work assignments and complete assigned tasks.
