About The Position
Two part-time openings are available for an Activities Assistant at Vista Prairie at Copperleaf in Willmar. This role involves bringing music, games, and conversation to residents in an assisted living and memory care community. The goal is to help residents stay active, connected, and engaged through activities tailored to their interests. The position offers daytime hours only, with no evenings or nights required.
Requirements
- Able to do hands-on physical tasks, like leading exercise or moving around the community
- Experience with both activities programs AND dementia/memory care support required
- Able to read, write, and follow instructions
Nice To Haves
- High school diploma or GED
Responsibilities
- Help plan and lead group and one-on-one activities: games, music, gentle exercise, and conversation
- Support residents in using their physical and mental abilities during programs
- Encourage residents to join in and take part
- Build friendly, familiar relationships so residents look forward to seeing you
- Keep the mood upbeat and positive during activities
- Perform bus driver duties when applicable
