About The Position

Castle Peak in Eagle, Colorado, is seeking an Activities Assistant to design and implement activities for residents in its Skilled Nursing and Assisted Living facility. The role conducts engaging activities and supports residents’ well-being, interests, and hobbies. The position is full-time, with a varying schedule that includes every other weekend. The wage range is $18 to $24 per hour, depending on experience.

The ideal candidate is self-motivated, creative, positive, and genuinely concerned about residents’ well-being. The position also involves coordinating events and outings, documenting resident participation, maintaining relationships with families or guardians, transporting residents to activities, and helping maintain the campus volunteer program.

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Desire to work with older adults in a long-term care setting.
• Ability to manage diverse individuals and large projects.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in a health or human services-related field.
• Prior experience working in a therapeutic activity department.

Responsibilities

• Plan and monitor individual and group leisure activities, including community outings and outdoor activities.
• Encourage, support, and assist residents in continuing their individual interests and hobbies.
• Coordinate weekend, evening, and holiday events.
• Maintain an open working relationship with residents’ families or guardians.
• Observe and document activity attendance, mood, behavior, and degree of involvement.
• Transport residents to and from activities of their choosing.
• Coordinate meetings and record meeting minutes.
• Represent the facility positively.
• Assist with recruiting and maintaining the campus volunteer program.
• Perform other related tasks as requested.
