Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience in activity planning, recreation, or a related role preferred
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Creativity and enthusiasm for organizing engaging activities
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Compassionate, patient, and attentive to the needs of diverse populations
  • Basic knowledge of safety procedures and ability to handle emergency situations
  • Ability to safely transport residents to appointments using the company vehicles

Nice To Haves

  • Additional certification in recreational therapy or related fields is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Plan, coordinate, and facilitate a variety of recreational and social activities tailored to the interests and needs of residents or clients
  • Assist in developing activity schedules and programs that promote social interaction, physical activity, and mental stimulation
  • Support residents or clients in participating in activities, providing encouragement and assistance as needed
  • Maintain a safe and welcoming environment during activities
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of activities, making adjustments to improve engagement
  • Collaborate with team members and family members to ensure activities align with individual preferences and care plans
  • Keep accurate records of activities and participation
