About The Position

The Activities Assistant works with the Activities Director and team to plan and implement activities for elderly residents, taking residents’ needs, interests, and functional levels into account. The role includes setting up and conducting group activities and helping residents get to and from scheduled events. No experience is needed; training will be provided to the right candidate.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Activities Director in planning, developing, organizing, implementing, and evaluating quality activity programs, including exercise, sensory activities, entertainment, music, arts and crafts, and other activities.
• Chart resident participation and progress appropriately and descriptively.
• Escort residents to and from activities.
• Make regular in-room visits to residents who are uninterested in or unable to participate in group activities.
• Provide excellent customer service and maintain a positive attitude toward residents.
• Demonstrate dependable, regular attendance.
• Concentrate and use reasoning skills and good judgment.
• Handle frequent interruptions.
