Activities Assistant CNA
About The Position
The Activities Assistant supports residents’ physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being by encouraging participation in daily activities and helping residents take an active role in their health and wellness. The role plans and carries out activities suited to residents’ backgrounds, needs, interests, and enjoyment. It also expands resident participation by recruiting, organizing, training, and recognizing volunteers, and involving residents’ families and the wider community. The position is at Allisonville Meadows and is listed as full-time, with hours from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. The employer emphasizes compassionate resident care, teamwork, and helping onboard new teammates. CNA credentials are preferred; employees who do not already have certification must be open to obtaining it within their first six months of employment.
Requirements
- Previous experience working with the geriatric population is preferred.
- CNA certification is preferred.
- Must be open to obtaining CNA certification within the first six months of employment.

Responsibilities
- Encourage residents to participate in daily activities that enhance their physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being.
- Motivate residents to take an active part in their own health and wellness.
- Carry out activities based on residents’ varied backgrounds, concerns, needs, and interests.
- Recruit, organize, train, and recognize volunteers to expand and supplement the activity program.
- Include as many residents as possible in the activity program.
- Involve resident families, the community, and volunteers in activities to increase resident participation.
- Support fellow employees as a positive teammate, including helping onboard new teammates.
- Provide residents with care and compassion.
