About The Position

The Activities Aide supports recreation and activities programs at Main Street Care Center, an assisted living community in Avon Lake, Ohio. The role facilitates group programs, assists residents with transportation to and from activities, helps plan and lead recreation programs, and promotes facility programs to residents, staff, family members, and volunteers. Requirements

• High school diploma and at least 2 years of experience in a patient activities program in a health care setting; or a college degree in, or active pursuit of a degree in, Recreation, Gerontology, Nursing Home Administration, Nursing, Occupational Therapy, or Occupational Therapy Assistant.
• A valid driver’s license is required for the degree-based qualification pathway.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate assigned group programs in a timely and efficient manner.
• Assist in transporting residents to and from activities.
• Assist with planning and leadership of recreation programs.
• Promote facility programs to residents, staff, family, and volunteers.
