Activities Aide for Assisted Living
About The Position
Sprenger Health Care is hiring an Activities Aide for its Main Street Care Center in Avon Lake, Ohio. The organization develops, owns, and operates senior living communities and services in Ohio and South Carolina, providing nursing care, assisted and independent living, memory care, hospice, home care, respite care, and post-acute rehabilitation. The Activities Aide facilitates group programs, helps residents travel to activities, assists with recreation planning and leadership, and promotes facility programs to residents, staff, families, and volunteers. Requirements
- High school diploma and at least 2 years of experience in a patient activities program in a health care setting; alternatively, a college degree or active study toward a degree in Recreation, Gerontology, Nursing Home Administration, Nursing, Occupational Therapy, or Occupational Therapy Assistant.
- A valid driver’s license is required for the college-degree or active-study qualification pathway.
Responsibilities
- Facilitate assigned group programs in a timely and efficient manner.
- Assist with transporting residents to and from activities.
- Assist with planning and leading recreation programs.
- Promote facility programs to residents, staff, family members, and volunteers.
