About The Position

Academic Approach is seeking dedicated educators to join their team for in-person tutoring at their Winnetka offices. This role focuses on mentoring students and building their key academic skills through personalized, high-impact 1-on-1 and classroom instruction. The position is not full-time, with most instructors averaging 8-12 instructional hours per week. Candidates must commit to at least one full school year (2026-27). All candidates will need to complete a content quiz covering English and math, followed by a paid, robust training program that includes synchronous and asynchronous work.

Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in any subject or major.
• Demonstrated commitment to diversity, inclusion, and educational equity.
• Passion for supporting student success.
• Ability to demonstrate academic expertise in English, math, reading, and science.
• Must teach all subjects on the ACT.
• Access to a computer with a webcam, mic, and a reliable internet connection (with at least 100 mbps download and 100 mbps upload speed) for virtual instruction.
• Consistent availability of at least 10 hours per week.
• Commitment to at least one full school year (2026-27).

• Academic content expertise, especially in maths, sciences, and humanities, for AP Exam and Academic support programs.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging, specialized academic and test-prep instruction to high school (and some middle school) students, primarily in-person in the Winnetka office.
• Build relationships in a supportive and professional manner.
• Maintain an accurate calendar in Microsoft Outlook.
• Respond to administrators, students, and parents in a timely manner.
• Demonstrate management skills and professionalism in both remote and in-person settings.
• Attend required training and professional development events.
