About The Position

The A220 commercial aircraft Programme is looking for an experienced Acoustic Professional to join our Acoustics team based in Mirabel (Québec, Canada), where you will be instrumental in the evaluation, certification, and analysis of aircraft acoustics, contributing to the complete product lifecycle from development to in-service support. You will be part of the Acoustics team responsible for evaluation and certification of aircrafts. The team organization is established to promote cross-collaboration autonomously, supporting each other and learning collectively. Your role as Acoustics Professional will be to participate in evaluating changes and establishing relevant certification strategies, perform acoustic calculations, prepare reports, communicate the results and satisfy certification authorities and internal clients. This position offers a path for development towards a Design Approval Designee (DAD) role.

Requirements

  • Hold a bachelor's or, preferably, a master's of higher degree in a relevant discipline with significant experience in the industry, specializing in acoustics throughout the complete life cycle of an aerospace product development.
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of Canadian Aviation Regulations (CAR) Airworthiness Manual (AWM) 525 development and certification processes.
  • Possess a solid understanding of sound propagation mechanisms, signal processing, and the instrumentation and data acquisition required for noise measurement.
  • Apply advanced working knowledge of MatLab, Python, and/or similar programming languages.
  • Be proficient in scripting within Windows and Linux environments.
  • Exhibit intermediate to advanced documentation skills and a proven ability to deliver results on TCQP (Time, Cost, Quality, Performance).
  • A self-starter with a strong sense of responsibility and good judgment, capable of working effectively under pressure with minimal supervision.
  • Possess exceptional organizational and analytical thinking skills.
  • Driven to improve processes, capture knowledge, and share insights with the team.
  • Exhibit excellent writing and communication skills, with a demonstrated ability for clear and concise technical writing.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience as a Design Approval Designee (DAD) or candidate is a significant asset.
  • Experience as a member of an international working group is an asset.
  • Familiarity with new analytical technologies, such as applied AI and Machine Learning, is considered an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in evaluating design changes and establishing relevant acoustic certification strategies.
  • Create, modify, and execute computer programs to perform acoustic calculations and simulations.
  • Propose innovative engineering solutions within your domain of expertise, proactively identifying and mitigating potential risks.
  • Produce comprehensive and formal documentation to communicate findings and ensure compliance with certification authorities and internal client requirements.
  • Provide technical support for flight and ground tests, including data acquisition and analysis.
  • Collaborate with other Airbus centers of competency to share best practices, manage knowledge, and improve overall team efficiency.
