Our service is structured into two major teams: the OEM team, which focuses on integrating our products from the vehicle design stage, and the after-sales service buyers' team, dedicated to managing and optimizing after-sales parts and services. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Purchasing, or Supply Chain Management, or Operations and Production Management or related field.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in purchasing projects and preferably in a globalized industrial environment.
  • Have team spirit and interpersonal professional skills for effective communication with suppliers, customers and related personnel.
  • Mastery of the MS Office Suite.
  • Thorough knowledge of Excel, intermediate to expert level.
  • Ability to work independently, solve practical problems and take initiative.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to work well under stress.
  • Precision and attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of quality systems.
  • Bilingual (English/French), both written and spoken. Knowledge of French is required for positions permanently based in Quebec to enable communication, as needed, with colleagues and suppliers in Quebec. French language training is offered to any permanent employee in Quebec who does not have sufficient knowledge of French.
  • Must be willing to travel as required 10% or less.
  • Must be able to travel to the United States for business travel.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Fully proficient with various information systems and Excel.

Responsibilities

  • Improve contract margins
  • Ensure the lowest total cost of ownership
  • Negotiate within the organization to enhance contract profit margins
  • Manage all aspects of purchasing for assigned projects from the tendering phase
  • Work with Aftermarket teams and commodity buyers to drive supplier selection
  • Utilize standard R&D products
  • Ensure the proper development of engineered parts
  • Implement APQP (Assistance, Product Quality Planning) and comprehensive supplier management throughout the development process
  • Act as a liaison between technical development, commodity buyers, quality assurance, and suppliers
  • Be involved upstream: launch studies and price estimation during tender phase
  • Participate in make-or-buy decisions and in the decision process to cluster single components into comprehensive sub-assemblies
  • Challenge the Bill of Material in order to propose price and cost reductions
  • Use standard R&D products
  • Organize the Sourcing activities to allow development of the spend in the low-cost countries/to allow development of the complete localization of the BOM
  • Fully responsible of purchasing Quality Cost Delay (QCD) on assigned scope of work
  • Guarantee from the tender to start of production: Purchasing Cost Control, fulfill project needs
  • Challenge to meet pricing targets, then apply this purchasing strategy to the commodity buyer
  • Integrate from the contract and the development phase the service’s needs (no private label, performance and price of the spares life.)
  • Launch RFQ on selected vendor panel approved by Quality, Customer Service, Engineering and Commodity Buyer
  • Manage suppliers and the purchasing quality cost delay improvement plan
  • Organize and manage technical reviews with technology partners, Supplier Quality, Engineering and Supply Chain in order to formalize the Team Feasibility Commitment at supplier selection and guarantee the achievement of the Technical Specification
  • Participate on proactively improving purchasing’s performance
