JOB SUMMARY Reporting to the Director of Purchasing, the Buyer / Project Liaison role is responsible supporting our advanced purchasing, new model purchasing, and program management activities within the Purchasing Department. You will be responsible for sourcing and procuring materials and components for new product development, ensuring that all purchases meet quality, cost, and delivery requirements. Your expertise will contribute to the successful execution of projects and the overall efficiency of the supply chain.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience working in purchasing, materials, planning, or similar field
  • All candidates must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident. Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States and will be required to provide proof of employment eligibility at the time of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Identify, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers to secure the best pricing, quality, and delivery schedules for new model purchases and program-related materials.
  • Work closely with engineering, production, and quality assurance teams to understand project requirements and align purchasing strategies accordingly.
  • Conduct market research and analysis to identify new suppliers, trends, and technologies that could enhance product quality and reduce costs.
  • Develop and manage budgets for new model purchases, ensuring adherence to financial targets throughout the program lifecycle.
  • Act as the primary contact for purchasing activities related to specific programs, coordinating with internal teams to ensure timely delivery of materials and components.
  • Assess and mitigate risks associated with supplier performance and market fluctuations, ensuring continuity of supply for ongoing and future projects.
  • Maintain accurate records of purchasing activities, contracts, and agreements, and prepare reports on purchasing metrics and project progress.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements within the purchasing function to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in sourcing and procurement.
