About The Position

This position is responsible for purchasing the highest quality materials at the lowest possible cost for Kiewit Supply Network. The role involves negotiating, renegotiating, and administering contracts with suppliers, vendors, and other representatives. Individuals with experience in an engineering and/or construction related role, as well as basic procurement experience, are desired but not required. The ideal candidate is a team player with the ability to work independently to meet deadlines, goals, and objectives. A detail-oriented, highly motivated individual with effective time management skills will excel in this position.

Requirements

  • Ability to travel between ID locations.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Power Point, Word, Excel)
  • General knowledge of database utilization

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, supply chain management, construction management or related degree preferred
  • 5+ years’ experience in an engineering and/or construction related role preferred
  • SAP Experience a plus
  • Basic knowledge of all areas of procurement, including procurement execution, estimating, expediting, offsite supplier quality and site purchasing preferred

Responsibilities

  • Negotiate, renegotiate, and administer contracts with suppliers, vendors and other representatives
  • Purchase the highest quality materials at the lowest possible cost in correct amounts per specifications and drawings
  • Maintain and review computerized or manual records of items purchased, costs, deliveries, product performance and inventories
  • Research and evaluate suppliers based on price, quality, selection, service, support, availability, reliability, production and distribution capabilities and the supplier’s reputation and history
  • Evaluate and monitor contract performance to ensure compliance with contractual obligations and determine needs for changes
  • Prepare purchase orders, solicit bid proposals, and review requisitions for goods and services
