About The Position

The Production Worker primarily works in the outside production area of AmeriGas’s Cylinder Exchange facility and is responsible for processing 20-pound barbecue grill cylinders. The role requires a consistent focus on safety, quality, timeliness, and teamwork. Most of the workday is spent in an unenclosed production area, where weather conditions such as wind, rain, ice, and snow may affect working conditions.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to follow processes, procedures, and instructions.
• Ability to function effectively as a member of a production team.
• Willingness to grow and learn.
• Basic mechanical aptitude.
• Basic computer knowledge.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to stand and walk for 8–12 hours per day; the qualifications section also states 8–10 hours per day.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds repeatedly throughout the day.
• Ability to obtain required state licensing.
• Ability to become forklift certified.
• Willingness to submit to a pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check.

Nice To Haves

• 1–2 years of manufacturing work experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Sort, inspect, clean, paint, label, and refill empty cylinders.
• Maintain a safety focus and wear proper personal protective equipment.
• Ensure consistent quality of cylinders being processed.
• Load filled cylinders onto trucks for the next day’s shipments.
• Perform general housekeeping duties.
