About The Position

The Production Worker primarily works in the outside production area of AmeriGas’s Cylinder Exchange facility and processes 20-pound barbeque grill cylinders. The role focuses on safely and consistently preparing cylinders for shipment, including sorting, inspecting, cleaning, painting, labeling, refilling, and loading them onto trucks. The production area is not enclosed and may be affected by wind, rain, ice, and snow.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to follow processes, procedures, and instructions.
• Ability to function effectively as a member of a production team.
• Willingness to grow and learn.
• Basic mechanical aptitude.
• Basic computer knowledge.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods; the posting specifies 8–12 hours per day in duties and 8–10 hours per day in qualifications.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds repeatedly throughout the day.
• Ability to obtain required state licensing.
• Ability to become forklift certified.
• Willingness to submit to a pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check; successful applicants must pass the drug screen as a condition of employment.

Nice To Haves

• 1–2 years of work experience in manufacturing is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Sort, inspect, clean, paint, label, and refill empty cylinders.
• Maintain a safety focus and wear the proper personal protective equipment.
• Ensure the consistent quality of cylinders being processed.
• Load filled cylinders onto trucks for the next day’s shipments.
• Perform general housekeeping duties.
