About The Position

The Production Worker primarily works in the outside production area of AmeriGas’s Cylinder Exchange facility and processes 20-pound barbeque grill cylinders. The role involves sorting, inspecting, cleaning, painting, labeling, and refilling cylinders, maintaining quality and safety standards, and preparing filled cylinders for shipment. The production area is not enclosed, so the employee may be exposed to wind, rain, ice, and snow.

Candidates must be able to work effectively on a production team in a fast-paced environment, follow instructions and procedures, and meet the physical demands of standing and walking for extended periods and repeatedly lifting up to 50 pounds. Applicants must be willing to complete a pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check. Successful applicants must pass the drug screen as a condition of employment and may be subject to substance-abuse testing under company policies.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to follow processes, procedures, and instructions.
• Ability to function effectively as a member of a production team.
• Willingness to grow and learn.
• Basic mechanical aptitude.
• Basic computer knowledge.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, stated as 8–12 hours per day in the duties and 8–10 hours per day in the knowledge, skills, and abilities section.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds repeatedly throughout the day.
• Ability to obtain required state licensing.
• Ability to become forklift certified.
• Willingness to submit to a pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check; successful applicants must pass the drug screen as a condition of employment.

Nice To Haves

• One to two years of manufacturing work experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Sort, inspect, clean, paint, label, and refill empty cylinders.
• Maintain a safety focus and wear the proper personal protective equipment.
• Ensure consistent quality of processed cylinders.
• Load filled cylinders onto trucks for the next day's shipments.
• Perform general housekeeping duties.
