About The Position

This position is responsible for the accounts receivable operations and support of the financial operations of Greater Family Health. Greater Family Health is a multi-site federally qualified health center providing comprehensive medical, dental and behavioral health services within the Chicagoland area. Our mission is to provide quality, affordable health care for all including those without the ability to pay. We currently have health centers in DeKalb, Des Plaines, Elgin, Franklin Park, Hanover Park, McHenry, Palatine, Streamwood, Sycamore, and Wheeling. We are financially and programmatically stable and are continuing to grow. We are Joint Commission Accredited and are PCMH Certified.

Requirements

  • High School graduate/G.E.D. required.
  • Previous experience with accounts receivable preferred.
  • Excellent writing skills and communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of PC-based and automated accounting systems and electronic spreadsheets.
  • Ability to write business correspondence and procedure/training manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients/patients, customers and general public.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exits.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
  • Customer service orientation.
  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality of information.
  • Must have strong numbers aptitude.

Responsibilities

  • Enter all third-party insurance payments according to Greater Family Health policies and procedures.
  • Successfully processes daily cash deposits according to Greater Family Health policies and procedures.
  • Maintain and prepare financial items needed for audits and/or required reports.
  • Make recommendations to improve Greater Family Health’s financial systems.
  • Provide successful stewardship of Greater Family Health’s assets.
  • Report to all scheduled work sites and shifts on time and fully prepared to engage in all job responsibilities; location of work sites and shifts will change at the discretion of the supervisor.
  • Engages in all offered training, consultations and supervisions made available. Fully and professionally respond to and implement directives and advice offered by all supervisory and training personnel, as well as professionally offered feedback from coworkers.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
