About The Position

DSV Air & Sea is seeking interns to assist in their busy Accounts Receivable Department. This internship offers hands-on experience and exposure within a large, successful global organization. The AR Accounting Clerk Intern will support customer file maintenance, payment application, collections, credit analysis, and account reconciliation. DSV is looking for a driven intern with a basic understanding of financial principles and terms, ready for an immersive, real-world experience. Under supervision, the AR Intern will be exposed to various daily functions within the AR department, participate in analyzing and reporting financial data, and learn to use transport-related and accounting software.

Requirements

• Must be proficient in MS Excel (VLOOKUPs, Pivots preferred)
• Must be a recent graduate or actively working towards an Associate’s or Bachelor’s in Accounting
• Satisfactory completion of introductory accounting courses and a basic understanding of accounting and financial principles
• A GPA of 2.75 or higher.
• Aptitude for math, proficiency with computers
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Must be able to work as part of a team
• Motivation and a strong desire to take on new challenges and learn as much as possible.

Responsibilities

• Reconcile discrepancies with incoming payments from customers
• Effectively communicate with customers verbally and by email
• Shadowing members of the AR department to learn essential duties
• Assisting with research of discrepancies, account reconciliation
• Working with SAP, Cargowise as well as other company software
• Handling sensitive or confidential information with honesty and integrity
• Compile and analyze data, track information using MS Excel
• Taking on additional tasks or projects to learn more about accounting and office operations such as, cash applications, credit analysis, collections, credit card payments processing
