About The Position

This opening with a growing Elkhart company is designed as a full-time position with hours of 8:00am–5:00pm Monday through Thursday and 8:00am–2:00pm on Fridays, although this position has historically started earlier in the day and left a bit earlier as well. The starting pay rate is expected to be around $25/hour, but there is flexibility for someone with strong Accounts Receivable and credit experience who can step in quickly and make an immediate impact. The company has experienced significant changes within its accounting department over the last year and is looking for someone strong and dependable to help stabilize and support the team. This person will initially focus heavily on Accounts Receivable and credit responsibilities, with the opportunity to eventually cross-train into Accounts Payable functions as well. They are hoping to move quickly and interview qualified candidates immediately. It’s a match for someone who brings strong Accounts Receivable and credit experience, is comfortable working independently, and enjoys stepping into a role where they can truly make a difference. This opportunity is ideal for someone who is dependable, detail-oriented, and confident handling accounting responsibilities in a fast-paced office environment.

Requirements

  • Prior Accounts Receivable and credit experience required
  • Strong accounting background preferred
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize workload effectively
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Professional communication and customer service skills
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel and accounting software preferred
  • Ability to understand and communicate (talk-read-hear) work instructions

Responsibilities

  • Managing Accounts Receivable functions including payment posting, collections, and account maintenance
  • Handling customer credit reviews and credit-related processes
  • Communicating with customers regarding past due balances and payment issues
  • Researching and resolving discrepancies on customer accounts
  • Working closely with internal departments regarding invoicing and account activity
  • Maintaining accurate accounting records and supporting daily accounting operations
  • Eventually cross-training into Accounts Payable responsibilities as needed
  • Helping support and strengthen a growing accounting department
