About The Position

The Wasserstrom Company, a leading national Food Service Distributor established in 1902 and family-owned, is seeking an Accounts Payable Supervisor for its Accounting Department at its Columbus, Ohio headquarters. The role requires previous supervisory experience in a progressive, high-volume Accounts Payable Department.

Requirements

Customer focus with strong organizational skills.
Aptitude for problem-solving.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
Ability to travel when required.
2-4 years supervisory experience in a high volume A/P environment.
Comfortability with leveraging new automation and AI tools and technologies to streamline work and improve business operations.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor's degree preferred.
SAP experience a plus.

Responsibilities

Accurate and timely invoice processing and payments.
Supporting cross-functional business partners.
Responding to vendor inquiries and escalations.
Supervising team performance and providing feedback in a coaching and mentoring environment.
Ensuring employer identification numbers or social security numbers are collected from all vendors for 1099 preparation and submission.
Performing periodic reporting on AP KPIs.
Performing and/or reviewing tasks related to Accounts Payable month-end close, including journal entries and reconciliations, in accordance with company policy.
Developing and maintaining processes and documentation of the accounts payable processes.
Identifying and presenting solutions for continuous process improvement, enhancing internal controls and reporting.
Ensuring proper maintenance, filing, and storage of records for audits.
Working with internal/external auditors to ensure continual and up-to-date requirements are met.
Performing other related duties as assigned.
