About The Position

The DHHS Financial Service Center is seeking an Accounts Payable Supervisor. In this position, you will manage operations and complete daily tasks including working with OCFS (Office of Child and Family Services) processing resource parent invoices and travel reimbursements ensuring accuracy, timeliness and compliance with federal, state and departmental guidelines. You will supervise a four-employee team while directly contributing to department objectives by ensuring accurate fiscal processes and regulatory compliance. You will oversee daily workloads, including workflow management, payment tracking, system accuracy, and the implementation of internal controls to safeguard funds and strengthen continuity of operations. You will review complex or high-risk transactions to ensure appropriate handling, and proper documentation for audit and compliance purposes. You will provide leadership and staff development through training, performance evaluation, coaching, and support, including assigning, monitoring, and reviewing work for quality and efficiency. You will serve as a liaison with internal departments and case workers to resolve invoice and payment issues, communicate process improvements and support programmatic needs. You will maintain and improve accounting processes, assist in developing policies and procedures, and support systemic upgrades and financial reporting. You will demonstrate a commitment to exceptional customer service, ethical standards, and a collaborative team environment aligned with the department’s mission and values. Requirements

  • Six (6) years of responsible clerical experience to include two (2) years performing supervision or performing highly independent clerical work.
  • Possess good critical thinking skills, be flexible and adaptable to a fast-paced environment
  • Basic understanding of Accounting Practices and Controls
  • Prior experience and/or education which demonstrates knowledge of analyzing accounting data, and accounting reconciliations.
