About The Position

American Workforce Group has partnered with a leading furniture manufacturer and wholesale distributor in Pierce County, WA to hire a full-time Accounts Payable Specialist. This is a full-time, temporary-to-permanent position covering maternity leave, offering a stable office opportunity with strong long-term extension potential. The role involves managing the accounts payable process, including invoice processing, matching, data entry, payment disbursements, and vendor communication.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 1+ years of verifiable experience in professional accounts payable or corporate bookkeeping.
  • Proven competency navigating automated accounting software or ERP platforms (QuickBooks, Sage, NetSuite, etc.).
  • Proficient utilizing Microsoft Excel to manage formulas, tracking matrices, and basic data reports.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, strong time-management skills, and numerical accuracy.
  • Clear written and verbal communication habits to facilitate corporate vendor relations.
  • Excellent attendance history and a reliable, self-motivated professional work ethic.

Responsibilities

  • Review, code, and process incoming vendor invoices from domestic and overseas suppliers.
  • Perform 3-way matching of invoices against purchase orders and warehouse receiving logs.
  • Enter and reconcile statement entries within the corporate accounting and ERP tracking network.
  • Prepare and process scheduled financial disbursements including check runs, ACH, and wire payments.
  • Communicate with vendors and internal purchasing/warehouse crews to resolve discrepancies.
  • Maintain organized, audit-ready AP files.
  • Support month-end close and aging reports.
