About The Position

Fraser Valley Building Supplies (FVBS) is the largest RONA dealer in Western Canada, with over 250 employees across 9 locations. The Accounts Payable Specialist, reporting to the Controller, will provide financial and administrative support to the Finance Department. This role involves receiving, processing, verifying, and reconciling invoices.

Requirements

  • Prior experience in a high-volume A/P environment
  • Acts with a strong sense of urgency, paying close attention to detail and accuracy
  • Demonstrates good professional judgement and problem-solving skills
  • Able to meet internal deadlines relating to payment due dates and reporting deadlines
  • Understands the importance of working in a team environment, bringing positivity and a good work ethic
  • Good communication skills, including verbal, written, presentation and conflict management
  • Established capacity to build strong relationships with direct reports, peers, supervisor, customers and vendors.

Nice To Haves

  • Industry experience an asset
  • Prior experience with an ERP system is a strong asset

Responsibilities

  • Sort, code, match, and file inventory invoices
  • Enter invoices into system using an ERP system
  • Process payments via cheque and EFT on a weekly basis
  • Research and resolve invoice discrepancies and issues
  • Maintain vendor files including communicating with vendor
  • Other administrative duties as they arise
