About The Position

NewVista Health and Wellness is currently recruiting for an Accounts Payable Specialist. The Accounts Payable (AP) Specialist is responsible for processing invoices, payments, and vendor transactions accurately and in a timely manner. This role supports the financial operations of a multi-site behavioral health system while ensuring compliance with internal controls and organizational policies.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • 2+ years of accounts payable or accounting experience
  • Supervisory or management experience required
  • Basic knowledge of accounts payable processes and accounting principles
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting systems
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
  • Effective communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
  • Healthcare or behavioral health experience preferred
  • Sage Intacct Experience and AP Workflow Tools preferred

Responsibilities

  • Process vendor invoices, ensuring accuracy, proper coding, and appropriate approvals
  • Enter invoices into the accounting system and maintain organized records
  • Prepare and process payment runs, including checks, ACH, and wire transfers
  • Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner
  • Communicate with vendors regarding payment status and inquiries
  • Assist with expense report processing and reimbursement requests
  • Maintain and update vendor records, including W-9s and payment details
  • Support month-end close activities, including accruals and reconciliations
  • Assist with audit preparation by providing required documentation
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, policies, and procedures
  • Maintain compliance with HIPAA as it relates to financial and vendor data
  • Identify and escalate issues or process improvement opportunities
  • Other Duties as assigned.
