About The Position
An Accounts Payable Specialist at Family Farm and Home will perform accounting and clerical tasks for the maintenance and processing of accounts payable transactions. The Accounts Payable Specialist will resolve invoice discrepancies as well as communicate with our retail locations and Merchandising Department.
Requirements
- Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
- Organized with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Broad range of computer skills necessary as they will be working with online data base systems.
- Computer skills in a Microsoft Windows environment are a must.
- Strong work ethic and be a team player requiring limited supervision.
- Good communication skills.
Nice To Haves
- A degree in accounting or finance and/or 3 or more years of related work experience is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Promote Family Farm and Home mission statement and family values.
- Responsible for all accounting work needed to ensure vendor invoices are processed in an efficient and timely manner
- Reconcile monthly vendor statements
- Research and resolve discrepancies that are associated with the processing of purchase orders and invoices
- Review and assemble invoices to be completed for payment
- Obtain proper information and/or data regarding invoice payments
- Verify and calculate all extensions and totals on invoices, calculating and taking discounts when applicable
- Respond to vendor inquiries
- Perform other duties that are needed to support the accounting department
- All other duties as assigned by supervisor or company official.
