About The Position

The Accounts Payable Intern seasonal position will provide essential support to the Accounts Payable department, assisting with a variety of tasks including processing purchase orders, Invoices, vendor statement reconciliations and grower tag verifications. This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in basic accounting processes. As a supporting function to the accounting team, they will gain skills and knowledge that will help them develop further in their careers.

Requirements

  • Experience working with Outlook
  • Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and other office software.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally.
  • Ability to handle sensitive financial information with confidentiality and integrity.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to troubleshoot discrepancies.

Nice To Haves

  • ERP- NAV or basic central (BC) experience helpful

Responsibilities

  • Assist with accounts payable, and vendor statement reconciliation
  • Knowledge of 3 way match on Po's
  • Organize department paperwork, file, and assemble necessary documents.
  • Prepare invoices and perform data entry of purchases into the ERP system.
  • Get approvals from various management via outlook emails.
  • Reconcile vendor statements and communicate with vendors as needed.
  • Update and improve various Excel spreadsheets and templates used by the department.
  • Assist Grower Accounting with matching weight master's and sending out daily grades to growers
  • Help with month end close process.
  • Open, sort, and stamp incoming mail.
  • Mail out checks and ensure all supporting documentation is attached.
  • Purge records from previous year.
  • Participate actively in Wawona Frozen Foods' safety program to maintain a healthy, injury-free environment.
  • Compliance with all GMP, HAACP, Food Safety, Food Defense, and SQF policies and procedures. Empowered to notify and/or act in response to any issues or concerns within the scope of work.
