About The Position

Our Client is seeking an Accounts Payable Clerk for a 6-month contract position with the possibility to convert to full-time for exceptional performance. This role is responsible for high-volume vendor payment processing, general accounts payable functions, and select general ledger and month-end close activities. The position reports directly to the Controller and works closely with the SVP–Chief Financial Officer. Experience in financial services and strong systems proficiency are preferred.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent accounting operations experience
2–4 years of accounts payable processing experience
Knowledge of accounting entries and general ledger account reconciliation
Proficient in Excel and Microsoft Office
Comfortable working with system interfaces and data imports/exports
Experience using general ledger accounting and reporting functions

Nice To Haves

2–4 years of experience in the financial services industry preferred
Great Plains experience a plus

Responsibilities

Process high volume daily equipment vendor payments including wires, checks, and ACH
Utilize LeaseWorks (LW), check processing, and banking systems for payment processing
Process general vendor invoices using Great Plains software
Review invoices for accuracy and proper general ledger coding
Handle inquiries from vendors and internal departments in a timely manner
Procure W-9 information from vendors and perform TIN verification
Reconcile equipment vendor payments to system of record and general ledger
Provide backup to the Staff Accountant during month-end close through check and wire production
Perform weekly and month-end general ledger account reconciliations for select areas
Prepare and input journal entries
Perform ad hoc analysis as needed
Assist with the annual audit as required
