About The Position

This role works closely with the Accounts Payable Supervisor, other accounting departments, and outside vendors. The Accounts Payable Associate II is responsible for intermediary AP transactions and will manage a portfolio of moderately to highly complex accounts, such as trade accounts. This role involves interaction with vendors and resolving discrepancies between purchase orders and invoices. The Associate will troubleshoot and handle complex/specific account issues, provide informal and formal training to lower-level AP employees, review and assist the accounting team with work assignments, and resolve escalated or identified complex issues. Additionally, the role involves preparing journal entries, assisting with the month-end close process, and maintaining data for report creation. The Associate will also review statements worked by the AP Coordinator to ensure completion.

Requirements

  • Has developed specialized skills or is multi-skilled through job-related training and considerable on-the-job experience.
  • Completes work under moderate supervision.
  • Likely to act as an informal resource for colleagues with less experience.
  • Identifies key issues and patterns from partial/conflicting data.
  • Takes a broad perspective to problems and spots new, less obvious solutions.
  • 2-year degree and 3–5 years of experience or High school graduate with equivalent related experience.
  • May require specific certifications.

Responsibilities
