About The Position

Cooke County is seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Assistant Auditor. Under general supervision, this position performs the county’s accounts payable function, including auditing payment requests, purchase invoices, and blanket purchase order payments. The role audits disbursement account coding to ensure expenditures are distributed accurately; verifies invoice and affidavit calculations; and prepares accounts payable reports and disbursement listings for reporting to Commissioner Court. The position also works with vendors on billing inquiries, resolves billing discrepancies, and files and scans accounts payable documents. The position reports to the County Auditor.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Detail-oriented and able to multitask.

Nice To Haves

• Accounting degree.
• Two to three years of accounts payable experience.
• Governmental experience.
