About The Position

As the Accounts Payable Accountant, your responsibilities include, but are not limited to, setting up new vendors, reviewing check requisitions submitted by internal users, reviewing vendor invoices, recording accounts payable entries in the accounting system, reconciling the accounts payable general ledger, and performing other accounting tasks as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
  • 1-2 years of AP/ Accounting experience
  • Understanding of the Accounting/Account Payable process in general
  • SAP experience is highly preferred
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skill
  • Strong with Excel (pivot tables, vlookup, etc)
  • Strong aptitude for numbers and quantitative skills with strong organization skills
  • Capable of handling multiple tasks with various due dates
  • Supports accounting team with other ad-hoc projects as needed

Responsibilities

  • Review and approve incoming vendor invoices, verifying that expenses are in accordance with the Company’s policy, and allocating to the proper GL account
  • Process invoices and timely post vendor invoices in SAP for weekly payment run
  • Respond to AP inquiries, resolve AP discrepancies, and timely communicate with internal users and vendors
  • Request required vendor documents, review for completeness, and set up vendor in SAP
  • Prepare weekly AP aging report to management and provide reason for the long-standing AP
  • Continue to improve the AP management and payment process
  • Assist with monthly closing activities as needed, including but not limited to AP accrual, flux analysis, etc.
  • Reconcile AP accounts and ensure the accuracy of general ledger accounts on a monthly basis
  • Perform other general accounting tasks as assigned
