About The Position

Reporting to the General Manager, the Accounting Support Manager is responsible for supporting the operations teams for a well-established higher education account. The Accounting Support Manager is responsible for analyzing all aspects of finance including payroll submission, transaction summaries, cost transfers, invoice entry, inventory controls and budgets. This is a highly collaborative role that includes working with other departments, managers and stakeholders. Culinary experiences and well-maintained environments are fundamental to student success. From brain-powering ingredients to comforting flavor combinations, nutritious food doesn’t have to be boring. Aramark chefs and dietitians are constantly reviewing the latest insights and food trends to find the next culinary innovation and help students discover their love of food. Requirements

  • Requires a Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Finance or Accounting
  • Requires a minimum of 3 years of experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, guest ledger, city ledger and profit and loss
  • Ability to implement improved quality control procedures
  • Ability to communicate effectively with clients, customers and support staff
  • Ability to respond effectively to changing demands
  • Ability to work in a diverse environment with a focus on client and customer service, entrepreneurship and building and growing a strong business
  • Proficiency utilizing Microsoft Office with advanced skills in Microsoft Excel

Nice To Haves

  • Previous accounting experience in hospitality, retail or a related field is an asset

Responsibilities

  • Providing analytical support to the onsite locations
  • Prepares and leads the monthly financial review with the General Manager providing custom reports as required, and responds to questions and requests
  • Prepares monthly bank account reconciliations, ensuring that discrepancies are resolved in a timely manner working in conjunction with the Head Office team.
  • Completes weekly, monthly and annual operating reports, all sales reports, special events sales billings and cash register audits for facility in a timely manner
  • This includes summary reports, monthly variance reports and all food, labor and direct costs statistical reports
  • Supervises all accounting office functions including cash disbursements, payroll, and general ledger accounting
  • Coordinates financial audits of component with internal and external auditors
  • Management of receivables and payables
  • Addresses any operational or financial issues in budgeting and forecasting
  • Supports the Operations Teams in preparing financial projections and weekly closing of reports
  • Reviews financial measures of effectiveness daily
  • Develops methods of tracking financial performance
