A Day in the Life: As an Accounting Specialist with the Humane Society, you'll play a vital role in supporting our mission to save and improve the lives of animals every day. You'll start your morning reviewing financial transactions, reconciling accounts, and ensuring our records are accurate and up to date. Throughout the day, you'll collaborate with team members across departments, process invoices and payments, and help maintain the financial integrity that keeps our programs running smoothly.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance preferred.
• 2+ years of general accounting work experience preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and an understanding of internal controls.
• Candidates should possess excellent written and verbal communication and organizational skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook; able to learn other software programs as necessary.

Nice To Haves

• Sage Intacct Accounting Software usage is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Manage and process accounts payable and receivable with accuracy and timeliness
• Reconcile bank statements and general ledger accounts
• Assist with month-end closing and financial reporting
• Maintain organized financial records and documentation
• Support budgeting and expense tracking for various departments
• Collaborate with staff to ensure compliance with financial policies and procedures
