About The Position

The Accounting Specialist I will perform basic accounting tasks and assist with maintaining accurate financial records for the company. This entry-level role involves processing accounts payable and receivable, reconciling bank statements, assisting with month-end close procedures, and supporting the accounting team with various administrative tasks.

Requirements

Associate’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
1+ years of experience in an accounting or bookkeeping role, preferably in a similar position.
Proficient with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).
Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy in financial data entry.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to identify and resolve discrepancies in financial records.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines efficiently.

Responsibilities

Process vendor invoices, verify accuracy, code expenses, and ensure timely payments.
Generate customer invoices, apply payments, and follow up on outstanding balances.
Reconcile bank statements and ensure that all discrepancies are addressed.
Maintain accurate records by entering financial transactions into accounting software.
Support the accounting team in preparing financial reports and closing out the month’s accounts.
Process employee expense reports and verify receipts.
Help prepare basic financial reports as needed.
Maintain organized and up-to-date files for all accounting-related documents.
Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and government regulations.
Assist the accounting team with additional tasks, projects, or research as requested.
