About The Position
SHAZAM is looking for an Accounting Specialist - Accounts Payable to support financial operations across ITS, Inc., SHAZAM, Inc., and ITS Bank. In this role, you will be responsible for processing disbursements, maintaining accurate accounts payable records, and assisting with sales tax reporting, account reconciliations, and journal entries. This position plays a key role in ensuring compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
Requirements
- 3+ years of bookkeeping or accounts payable experience in a similar industry or environment
- Strong understanding of fundamental accounting principles
- Familiarity with accounting systems and financial processes preferred
- Experience with Workday and advanced excel experience preferred
- Excellent attention to detail, organization, and time management skills
- Ability to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities
- Review and evaluate invoices, assigning appropriate general ledger codes for accurate entry into the accounts payable system
- Process and prepare payments through the automated accounts payable system
- Maintain and produce a monthly listing of open accounts payable
- Ensure compliance with internal accounts payable policies and procedures
- Assist with preparation and timely filing of state sales and use tax returns; collaborate with vendors to ensure proper tax application
- Maintain accurate vendor records to support year-end 1099 reporting
- Complete assigned general ledger account reconciliations and journal entries
- Support the Accounting Manager with special projects and departmental initiatives while providing backup coverage for other accounting functions as needed
