Salary for the candidate will be determined taking into consideration a number of factors including: experience, skills, qualifications, anticipated contribution to role, internal equity, location etc. The salary range presented below is based on a 35-hour workweek and would represent a majority of different candidate profiles. However, we encourage candidates who may fall outside of this range to apply as well. We’re looking for an Accounting Service Representative to join our growing team!

Requirements

  • College Diploma in accounting or any combination of equivalent education and experience
  • At least 2 years of experience in a similar role
  • Can consistently perform at a superior level with respect to both the accuracy and volume of work completed
  • Effective communications skills with an emphasis on customer service
  • Strong computer skills or training with standard office applications including strong data entry skills

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in the insurance industry is considered an asset

Responsibilities

  • Accurately process and verify payments received, reconcile bank deposits and verify deposit totals.
  • Prepare, compile and dispatch invoices, statements, reports and cheques.
  • Record and post broker billing statements and payments in the payment register and accounting system.
  • Reconcile basic accounts and resolve outstanding amounts.
  • Review and resolve daily cash reports, correct and adjust journal entries and process cheque requisitions.
  • Verify and post banking information, review new business, amend payment schedules, and process premium refunds for accounts.
  • Handle unresolved issues regarding payments, disbursements, billing arrangements, payment methods and account discrepancies.
