About The Position

The Accounting Operations Specialist is responsible for the day-to-day execution of accounting operations and oversight of shared service activities. This role ensures accurate financial reporting, disciplined AR/AP and payroll processes, and a reliable month-end close, while reducing the transactional workload of the Controller. The Accounting Operations Specialist plays a key role in maintaining financial controls, supporting operational finance processes, and ensuring the integrity of accounting data across systems.

Requirements

5+ years of accounting or bookkeeping experience (manufacturing environment preferred)
Strong experience with month-end close, reconciliations, and accounts receivable management
ERP system experience required
High attention to detail with strong organizational skills
Ability to manage and oversee transactional workflows
Strong user of Microsoft Office programs, particularly Excel and Outlook
Local to Okanagan

Responsibilities

Own and execute the monthly close process, including maintaining the close calendar and deliverables
Prepare and review bank reconciliations and balance sheet reconciliations
Post routine and recurring journal entries
Maintain ERP financial master data and support standard financial reporting
Utilize supporting admin rolls to drive performance of accounts receivable processes
Own the AR collections cadence, including follow-up and escalation
Review AR and AP aging and provide input to cash flow reporting
Validate proposed EDI Exception resolutions to ensure alignment with AR integrity and performance
Ensure operational resolutions do not create financial or reporting risk
Support the Controller in onboarding new business entities and standardizing financial processes
Enforce accounting SOPs, controls, and reporting deadlines across shared services
Monitor transactional workflows to ensure accuracy and consistency
Perform other duties as required
