About The Position

Healthcare Services Group (HCSG) is seeking an Accounting Operations Manager to join its corporate Accounting team in Bensalem, Pennsylvania. This hybrid role reports to the Corporate Controller and manages accounting processes, including month- and quarter-end close and the daily activities of the accounting team. The ideal candidate is diligent, detail-oriented, a team player, and has progressive accounting experience.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• At least 5 years of accounting experience.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.

Responsibilities

• Manage the consolidated back-office month-end accounting close, coordinating with accounts receivable, accounts payable, and operations teams to complete close activities by established deadlines.
• Review journal entries for key month-end processes, including accrued revenue, payroll, and operating expenses, and ensure all entries are posted timely, including those not directly assigned to the role.
• Review reconciliations for key accounts, enforce reconciliation rules across the consolidated company, assign new reconciliations, and ensure compliance before monthly deadlines.
• Review operating financial statements before operations close to verify activity is recorded properly and respond to operator questions about performance.
• Oversee fixed asset capitalization and quarterly and annual inventory counts for food and environmental services inventories.
• Lead and develop senior and staff accountants, delegating work to support segregation of duties and efficient workloads.
• Assist with supporting documentation for quarterly and annual SEC filings, including financial statement footnotes and management’s discussion and analysis.
• Operate assigned internal controls, including key monthly and quarterly controls for ongoing SEC filings, and design new controls as needed to meet SOX requirements.
• Liaise with internal and external auditors, respond to audit inquiries, and provide audit support as needed.
