Requirements

  • Graduation from a recognized college or university with specialization in accounting or business administration, or in another specialty relevant to the duties of the position.
  • A minimum of one (1) year of experience in Accounting, Finance, or other relevant discipline.
  • Experience working with Microsoft Excel.
  • Ability to work overtime as required.
  • English Essential.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
  • Be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience providing accounts payable and general accounting/financial management services, including verification of accounts payable coding, keying of accounts payable invoices and the processing of cheques in a fast paced environment.
  • Experience in effectively communicating with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of Great Plains Financial System.
  • Knowledge and experience in the application of Financial Administration Act (FAA) as well as Treasury Board Policies and Directives.
  • Experience in accounts payable and awareness of International Financial Reporting Standards.
  • Knowledge of accounts payable theories, principles, techniques and practices including approvals/authorizations, financial coding, payment terms, reconciliation, tracking and reporting, is also required.
  • Knowledge of CATSA's mandate and priorities, as well as an awareness of relevant legislation impacting CATSA.

Responsibilities

  • Processing vendor invoices, employee claims and other disbursements.
  • Performing all other duties and responsibilities related to the position as required.
