About The Position

VP Racing is seeking a full-time Accounting Manager in the Finance Department at our Corporate Headquarter location (San Antonio, Texas). The Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing complex accounting functions, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, cost accounting, financial reporting, and tax compliance. This role involves developing and implementing financial policies, analyzing financial data for forecasting and variance analysis, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. The Accounting Manager will lead daily cash management, auditing, and reconciliations while providing leadership to direct reports. Additionally, they will serve as the ERP administrator, maintaining financial processes and controls. This position requires strong problem-solving skills and the ability to enhance accounting systems and procedures to support business objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or related field; AND at least four (4) years of experience in accounting; OR any combination of education and experience that results in the applicable skills, knowledge, and abilities.
  • Extremely organized and able to manage the logistics of multiple duties with professionalism and strong communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment is critical for success in the role, as are high levels of accuracy, timeliness and dependability.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships within the organization, work effectively with all levels of employees and management, and assist in providing solutions to challenges that arise.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
  • Manufacturing experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Own the full accounting cycle — AR, AP, cost accounting, financial reporting, and tax compliance for a high-growth manufacturing and distribution company
  • Lead daily cash management, auditing, and reconciliations with precision and speed
  • Drive forecasting and variance analysis, turning complex financial data into actionable insights for leadership
  • Develop and implement financial policies, controls, and procedures that scale with the business
  • Serve as ERP Administrator (NetSuite preferred), managing system processes, data integrity, and controls
  • Prepare regulatory reports and corporate tax returns, ensuring full compliance and maximizing favorable tax positions
  • Lead and mentor direct reports, setting a high standard for accuracy and accountability
  • Partner cross-functionally with sponsors, vendors, customers, and all levels of management
