About The Position

Mosaic Human Capital Solutions is conducting a search for an experienced Accounting Manager on behalf of a San Antonio organization. This role is ideal for a hands-on accounting professional who enjoys improving processes, building structure, and helping modernize financial operations within a stable and growing environment. The organization operates multiple locations across San Antonio and is seeking someone who can take ownership of the accounting function, identify opportunities for improvement, and help implement stronger financial controls and reporting practices. The Accounting Manager will oversee day-to-day accounting operations, support budgeting and financial reporting activities, improve accounting processes, and serve as a key business partner to operational leadership. This individual must be comfortable working independently, driving accountability across multiple locations, and helping elevate the overall sophistication of the accounting function. This is a highly visible role reporting directly to executive leadership.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of progressive accounting experience
  • Strong understanding of accounting operations, financial reporting, and process improvement
  • Experience with cost accounting and inventory accounting required
  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills, even in environments with limited direct reports
  • Self-starter who can work independently and identify areas needing attention without extensive direction
  • Experience with QuickBooks or similar accounting systems required
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience supporting multi-location operations preferred
  • Experience evaluating or implementing accounting systems strongly preferred
  • CPA or CMA is a plus, but not required

Responsibilities

  • Manage daily accounting operations including general ledger, reconciliations, month-end close, and financial reporting
  • Improve accounting workflows, internal controls, and overall back-office processes
  • Partner with operational leaders across multiple locations to ensure financial accuracy and accountability
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis
  • Review and maintain inventory and cost accounting processes
  • Ensure compliance with applicable financial reporting and tax requirements
  • Identify gaps in current processes and proactively recommend improvements
  • Support system optimization efforts, including evaluating current accounting platforms and future system enhancements
  • Prepare reports and provide financial insight to executive leadership
  • Coordinate with external partners including auditors, tax professionals, and vendors as needed
  • Travel locally between San Antonio-area locations as needed
