About The Position

The Junior Accounting Manager is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring timely financial reporting, managing accounting operations, supporting cash flow management, and maintaining compliance across multiple companies. This position requires a strong understanding of GAAP, accrual accounting, financial analysis, and internal controls while providing leadership within the accounting department. The ideal candidate is highly organized, analytical, detail-oriented, and able to thrive in a fast-paced, multi-company environment. This position is designed for a high-performing accounting professional who is ready to grow into a senior leadership role while helping ensure the financial accuracy, compliance, and operational efficiency of multiple companies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting (Required)
  • Master's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or MBA with Accounting/Finance concentration (Required)
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience
  • Experience with financial reporting and month-end close
  • Strong GAAP knowledge
  • Accrual accounting expertise
  • Financial statement preparation
  • General ledger management
  • Cash flow forecasting
  • Financial analysis
  • Internal controls
  • Advanced Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, formulas)
  • NetSuite or similar ERP systems
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills

  • Multi-entity accounting experience preferred
  • Manufacturing, wholesale distribution, healthcare, or SaaS experience preferred
  • CPA (Preferred, not required)

Responsibilities

  • Prepare accurate monthly financial statements.
  • Complete month-end close by the required deadline.
  • Prepare: Profit & Loss Statements, Balance Sheets, Cash Flow Statements, Gross Profit reporting, Department financial reporting.
  • Ensure financial information is accurate and timely.
  • Maintain the general ledger.
  • Prepare journal entries.
  • Record accruals and prepaid expenses.
  • Reconcile: Bank accounts, Credit cards, Loan accounts, Fixed assets.
  • Review account balances for accuracy.
  • Review A/P and A/R processes.
  • Ensure expenses are coded correctly.
  • Monitor collections.
  • Improve cash conversion cycle.
  • Review aging reports.
  • Prepare weekly cash flow reports.
  • Forecast cash requirements.
  • Assist executive management with liquidity planning.
  • Monitor company banking activity.
  • Maintain compliance with: GAAP, Sales tax, Payroll tax, Property tax, State and federal reporting.
  • Assist external CPA during year-end review or audit.
  • Help develop accounting policies.
  • Maintain documentation.
  • Strengthen internal financial controls.
  • Assist with fraud prevention initiatives.
  • Assist with annual budgeting.
  • Prepare forecasts.
  • Analyze expenses.
  • Recommend cost-saving opportunities.
  • Monitor profitability by department and product line.
  • Support Controller and CFO functions.
  • Train accounting staff.
  • Improve accounting processes.
  • Assist with ERP implementation and automation initiatives.
