About The Position

Brunswick Bowling Products is looking for a detail-oriented and collaborative Accounting Manager to oversee accounting functions including the general ledger, tax compliance, financial reporting and analysis and internal control, ensuring our transaction systems and workflows run smoothly and efficiently. This includes supporting and understanding the transactions of our global sales, manufacturing and distribution efforts along with implementing a new ERP system. We are seeking a growing contributor who is as comfortable posting transactions as they are diving into a complex reconciliation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or related field required.
  • 5 years of progressive accounting experience
  • Solid understanding of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and experience in a manufacturing or distribution environment along with foreign operations and consolidation.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs) and experience working within a mid-to-large scale ERP system.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills; ability to investigate, analyze, and reconcile information from several distinct sources in situations where conclusions or resolutions are discernible.
  • General understanding of local and state compliance requirements (payroll, property, sales, tax).
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and process improvement.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities efficiently and effectively.
  • Ability to work cross functionally.

Nice To Haves

  • CPA or CMA is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Standardize and document internal accounting procedures to increase efficiency, reduce errors while allowing for others to understand the details.
  • Lead the month-end and year-end close process, ensuring all journal entries and reconciliations are completed accurately and on schedule.
  • Maintain the general ledger and oversee the reconciliation of all sub-ledgers.
  • Prepare Monthly financial reporting including consolidation, factory variance reporting and margin reporting.
  • Provide data and support for Risk Management (Commercial Insurance) annual renewal and associated accounting for premiums and Captive participation.
  • Oversee and reconcile weekly and biweekly payroll processing and associated reporting requirements.
  • Oversee and reconcile various other transactions, as necessary.
  • Research and resolve accounting issues.
  • Support annual budgeting and monthly forecasting processes.
  • Assist in preparing and completing various annual audits and tax filings and provide critical transactional and analytical insights that help drive smart business decisions.
  • Ability to communicate financial concepts effectively across a diverse customer-base; good verbal and written communication skills and good interpersonal skills with ability to deal with individuals at all levels, both inside and outside the organization.
  • Maintaining strict confidentiality of all financial data, sensitive analyses, and proprietary information.
