About The Position

Austin Industries is seeking interns for its 2027 Summer Accounting Internship Program. This paid, 12-week full-time program offers hands-on experience in accounting processes within the construction industry. Interns will gain exposure to month-end close, financial analysis of construction projects, financial reporting, account reconciliations, budgeting, and data management. The program also includes mentorship, exposure to career paths, and opportunities to visit project sites and participate in social and volunteer events. The internship is designed to provide a comprehensive understanding of how accounting supports project performance and business decision-making in a corporate environment.

Requirements

Must be an active junior or senior college student working toward a bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
Targeted graduation date between December 2027 and December 2028
Must be able to work up to 40 hours per week
Must be able to commute onsite to assigned location
Must have excellent oral and written communication skills
Must have the ability to think analytically, present ideas professionally, and work in project teams
Applicants must be legally authorized to work for ANY employer in the United States

Responsibilities

Prepare, analyze, and review balance sheet reconciliations
Prepare, analyze, and review monthly SGA departments
Prepare and enter journal entries
Scan backup and supporting document into CMiC (ERP system)
Assist in the mid-year forecast process
Assist various levels and sub-departments within the accounting team on special projects
Prepare ad-hoc reports
